Maisie's first adventure

We recently took Maisie on her first walk. We decided to take her to the coast as it isn't too far from us and would get her used to lots of different things at a young age. After three weeks of not being able to take her out (due to inoculations) this was a very exciting moment! She loved every minute of it and met lots of dogs, being a puppy she wasn't used to seeing other dogs but she loved every minute of it and at some points had 2 or 3 dogs around her! We made sure to have a slow walk so that she didn't get too tired out but by the end as you will see from the pictures I think it was all a bit much for her.

She was very tired by the end of the walk!

Our wedding day!

This is something I have been excited to write about, our wedding was fairly recently and was a day neither of us will ever forget. I explained in a previous blog that we had decided to get married in Malcesine, Lake Garda (Italy.) The reason for this is we both love Italy, I went to Malcesine when I was younger on a family holiday and absolutely fell in love with it. It is such a beautiful area, the lake is huge and is surrounded by mountains. In my opinion you can't beat the scenery.

We visited the area the year before our wedding to have a look at the places where we could have our reception and to explore the area. With the wedding being in Italy we were worried about planning it from the UK and therefore decided to go through a company called italianlakesweddings.com they were amazing and made the planning process so much easier.

We decided to have a 5.00 wedding as we worried it would be too hot for everyone in the middle of the day. Although when we got to Italy on the 23rd July the weather wasn't as good as we had been hoping - which was a surprise as this is the one thing we thought we wouldn't have to worry about! The area looks stunning whether it is sunny or not but of course for the wedding day we wanted it to be good weather otherwise we wouldn't have been able to have our outdoor ceremony. Luckily on the day the sun came out just in time. Our ceremony was overlooking the lake at Castello Scaligeri. The views from the castle are breath taking and we couldn't have asked for a better place to say I do.

After our ceremony we had some group photos and then walked down to the boat port where we had an hour boat ride which was a chance for myself and Robert to take in that we had just got married whilst enjoying a glass of prossecco!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip - it was lovely to get the breeze and the views back to Malcesine castle. We also stopped off at a waterfall which was absolutely breath taking.

After our boat trip we walked to our reception venue the Prima Luna which was right on the Lake. We couldn't fault the Prima Luna, the food was lovely and they were so accomodating - it was amazing. We sat outside on a long table under a cover in case the weather took a change for the worst. (which right as we were finishing our meal it did and there was a huge storm! Luckily we were taken inside and danced the night away)  We took all the bird cages and decorations out with us in our suitcases and the look was exactly what we wanted. Looking at the pictures of the day makes me feel emotional because it was perfect and so much better than I ever imagined it could be. Of course we wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of our wedding planners, I am so thankful to them for all their efforts with our wedding day.

I am also so happy that all our planning and hard work with the decorations and getting everything out to Italy paid off. It feels sad that this time is over as it was an amazing day and I really enjoyed planning it but I couldn't be happier as I am now a Mrs and have some beautiful memories and photos to look back on and remember our special day.

Our new addition to the family.

Ever since we moved out I had always wanted to get a dog, when I was younger we always had a dog at home and they become part of the family. But when we moved out with us both working full time and not being there in the week we didn't feel it was fair to get a dog and not be there to spend time with it. So instead we decided to get our cat Missy who we adore and couldn't imagine not being around. Missy can be grumpy at times and is definitely the boss of the house but she is part of the family and I couldn't imagine the house without her!

Anyway in the last year I got a job which allows me to work from home so I nagged Robert to get a dog but we always put it off for one reason or another - mainly because we had enough to plan with the wedding coming up. We came to a mutual agreement that we would get a dog after the wedding as a present to ourselves. So of course knowing me I started planning ahead and looked into what type of dog we could get. We eventually decided on a cockerpoo. I had heard so many good things about them - we especially liked that they were very friendly social dogs and loved people. It was an added bonus that they don't shed fur and are very cute! When we went to get Maisie we already knew we wanted a girl and fell in love with her instantly, she ran up to us and greeted us with licks. She was so beautiful and very affectionate and we both looked at each other knowing this would be the dog we got.

We have loved having her around, she loves keeping you company and she is laying on my feet as I type this. It has taken a while for Missy and Maisie to get used to each other and we have had a few stand offs, however they are gradually getting used to the idea of living together and over time I think it can only get better. We are so happy to finally have our dog and feel that this is the start of a new chapter. I am sure you will see lots more in my future blogs.

A new chapter!

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

I have been wanting to write a blog for quite some time now and have finally bitten the bullet. Now seems like the ideal time to start my blog as I am embarking on a new chapter in my life. My name is Jasmin and I am 22 years old and live in Kent with my husband Robert, Missy (our cat) and Maisie (our puppy.)

I recently got married so over the last 1 and a half years I have been very busy and have never found the time to start a blog. Now is the ideal time for me to do so as I will have a lot more time on my hands. Also I am starting a new chapter of my life and I feel it is a nice place to start sharing what I love to do with you. The blog will mainly be lifestyle based and include lots of things I enjoy doing and how I spend my time.

I am excited to finally get started and I hope you enjoy it!
